Inc. recently released the 2015 version of their annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. For Hawaii, however, only five companies made the list…and none of those are in the tech industry.
Overall, Hawaii ranks near the bottom of the list by number of companies, tied with South Dakota and followed only by Vermont, Alaska, and Wyoming. California ranks #1, with nearly 14% of listed companies calling that state home.
The five Hawaii companies to make the list are:
|118||Na Ali’i||2,987%||$3.3m||Government Services|
|1095||Elite Pacific Properties||395%||$8.3m||Real Estate|
|1818||Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers||219%||$27m||Real Estate|
|2875||Native Hawaiian Veterans||124%||$20.5m||Government Services|
While our state’s tech industry is admittedly young, our aspirations of becoming the next Silicon Valley have yet to bear fruit, at least as far as revenue growth is concerned.
