The great news out of Honolulu-based Energy Excelerator continues to flow, once again demonstrating their increasing influence in the global world of energy technology. This week they announced a new corporate sponsor, one of the biggest players in energy, General Electric, through their investment arm GE Ventures.
In a blog post, GE Ventures stated, “(W)e are excited to announce our partnership with Energy Excelerator, a Hawaii-based program dedicated to solving the world’s energy issues. As part of this partnership, we will invest in the Energy Excelerator, serve on its strategic advisory board, and offer Energy Excelerator portfolio companies support deploying and scaling their solutions.”
According to a spokesperson, Energy Excelerator has already invested $10 million in 32 portfolio companies spanning energy, water, transportation, agriculture, and cybersecurity. These companies have gone on to raise $207 million in follow-on funding.
