Hawaii’s own Entrepreneurs Foundation is sponsoring an upcoming event where you can meet two mainland venture capitalists and hear quick pitches from Honolulu startups.
“Pupus & Pitches” gives local entrepreneurs the chance to meet venture capitalists Patricia Glaza of Arsenal Venture Partners and Paul Weinstein of Azure Capital Partners, who will be on hand to talk about their funds, what it takes to get funded in today’s startup climate, and what they look for in Hawaii startups.
No word on if they will talk about past investments in Hawaii startups, if any, and plans for future investments.
Attendees will also get the chance to hear “selected entrepreneurs” give three-minute pitches and get feedback and questions from the VCs. We’re not clear on what selection process the entrepreneurs had to go through, or what criteria made them eligible for the pitch, and there’s no mention of how many to expect or who they might be.
Tickets for the event, being held at the Waikiki Yacht Club, are free for EF Hawaii members, $35 for non-members, and $20 for students.
Awesome to see that this startup/entrepreneurial event is open to the public and not “invite only.”
