WHAT HAPPENS AT STARTUP WEEKEND? Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over the next 48 hours teams work around the clock focusing on business model creation, coding, designing and market validation to build a viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of local and mainland experts to include VC’s, Angels, and other well-respected entrepreneurs in hopes of gaining suggestions, direction, and investors.
Startup Weekend currently takes place in more than 100 cities in 30 countries around the globe. Over 36% of Startup Weekend startups are going strong after 3 months. Roughly 80% of participants plan on continuing working with their team or startup after the weekend.
