Blue Startups Hires Melialani James as Program Manager


(HONOLULU, HAWAII — JANUARY 22, 2013) — Local startup accelerator, Blue Startups, has hired Melialani “Meli” MJamesJames, as its program manager to lead company operations.

In 2012, James launched Hawaii Apps, LLC, to develop mobile apps for local businesses. She is the co-founder of mobile applications Nirvino and TuneTug and has more than twelve years of marketing, operations, research and event experience working with W Hotels and the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Blue Startups, a new technology accelerator with an Asia-Pacific focus, concentrates on scalable-technology companies including Internet, software, mobile, gaming and e-commerce. Part of the Global Accelerator Network, Blue Startups aims to become a nexus of entrepreneurial activity in Hawaii, and between Asia and Continental U.S.

James received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University’s venerable School of Hotel Administration and studied wine in Seville, Spain. She resided in San Francisco just over 11 years frequenting Napa and Sonoma immersed in wine culture. James was born and raised in Honolulu and is a Punahou School alumna.
