Pitch Coaching, Ask the VC Sessions from Startup America

Startup HawaiiStartup Hawaii, a Startup America Region, has been encouraging Hawaii-based entrepreneurs and startups to register with Startup America ever since our inception…a week and a half ago. 😉

What’s in it for you? Well, outside of getting involved with your local Startup Hawaii region, Startup America offers tools to help your company scale successfully, with over forty exclusive discounts and offers from partners like Microsoft, American Express, and Dell, among other benefits.

What “other benefits,” you ask? Well, two of the most-beneficial for early-stage startups are the weekly Pitch Coaching Sessions and the “Ask the VC” Q&A Sessions.

The Pitch Coaching Sessions are offered on Wednesdays and will help you perfect your two-minute investor pitch. Many early-stage startup struggle with how to craft their pitch, keep it short and concise, and hit all of the points that a potential investor or partner would find relevant. These sessions, led by pitch coach Nathan Gold, can help you focus on what the investors want to know, not what you want to tell them.

The “Ask The VC” Q&A Sessions are held every Friday and put a top-tier VC on the spot to answer your most pressing questions. This week featured Greg Gottsman, Managing Director at Madrona Venture Group, which has provided early-stage funding to companies from the Hawaii-connected Cheezburger to the well-past-early-stage-startup Amazon.com.
